Curricular Plans

The Nursery School, Kindergarden and Primary School’s curriculum aims to:

• Develop healthy social life, through self-respect and respect towards others;

• Develop self-determination, through the construction of critical thinking and freedom of choice regarding decision-making;

• Develop self-esteem, independence and the promotion of its own individual abilities;

• Develop the ability to concentrate and to make plans through everyday life activities;

• Develop healthy habits for themselves and for others, as well as the notion of the correct physical postures;

• Develop reading habits and the ability to interpret and to think righteously;

• Develop artistic, musical, dramatic, sporty skills and the curiosity for other languages and cultures;

• Promote the construction of cultural and social values and interpersonal relationships based on respect will of sharing and teamwork;

• Develop curiosity about the world that surrounds the Child/Young person;

• Develop respect for nature;

• Develop the parents involvement in all school activities.

Colégio Europeu Astoria also aims to:

• Ease parents daily lives and help them to guide their children;

• Be a trustworthy support, so that parents can see the school as a partner;

• Work with parents when launching new services/measures to suppress the emerging needs;

• Encourage parents to contribute to activities that will be developed with the children, involving them in their planning and implementation;

• Give parents opportunities, so that they can participate in the creation of the school’s Educational Project.
